Software is mainly divide in two types :-

1. System software or Operating System
2. Application software

1. System Software : - Your computer is nothing without a system software. When you install system software, it install in C: ( c drive ) in Hard disk drive.

Example of system software :-

3. Windows 7
4. Vista
5. Windows XP
6. Windows 98
7. Windows 95

etc  are most popular operating system for Windows pc.

Note : Apple pc use Mac os.

2. Application Software :-  Following are the example of application software -

1. Ms Office Package
2. C / C++
3. Java / Oracle / Visual Basic
4. Photoshop
5. Coreldraw
6. Page Maker
7. Tally

etc are the most popular application sofware.
